Transmission Type

• X-TRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) — This is Nissan’s belt/chain-type CVT gearbox.
  It replaces conventional stepped gears with a stepless ratio system that provides smooth acceleration and helps improve fuel efficiency.

How It Works

• Instead of fixed gears (like 1st, 2nd, 3rd…), the CVT uses a variable pulley system to keep the engine running at its most efficient speed while varying the drive ratio.
• Combined with the S-Hybrid system, a small electric assist motor (starter-generator) supports torque at low speeds and during idle-stop, but the wheels are still mechanically driven through the CVT.
